Tanaka for Surgery! Other News...
October 20th, 2006
Today it was announced that Fire Festival '06 winner Masato Tanaka will finally get his damaged right shoulder surgically operated on. Tanaka has wrestled with the bad shoulder since July 2004 and as seen in the Fire Festival this year when in the finals of the tournament his shoulder was dislocated after Tanaka delivered a hard lariat on opponent Ryoji Sai.
After ZERO1-MAX wrestler Yoshihito Sasaki and the ring doctor re-set it Tanaka returned to action and on to victory in his first Fire Festival since appearing in every one. It is apparent however that his shoulder is now in a situation where it pops out by itself. Tanaka, as with many in his profession, soldiered on all this time wanting surgery and has decided that now is the time.
The operation will be happening within the year and Tanaka has made a request for the 10/27 Korakuen Hall show and ZERO1-MAX President Mr. Nakamura approved it - Takao Omori will now be facing Chris "Bambikiller" Raaber for the EWA Heavyweight title in replacement for Tanaka. Tanaka decided he'd rather have his final match before surgery alongside EMBLEM partner Shinjiro Otani and against the evil duo of Kazunari Murakami and Mitsuhiro Matsunaga.
Tanaka said it angered him that Matsunaga took a fork to the head of Katsumi Usuda after Usuda was defeated in the main event 6-man tag yesterday in Iwate, Japan. Tanaka also has history with Matsunaga going back to FMW.
Speaking of FMW, ZERO1-MAX and "Mr. Danger"...the man who finally Stopped the Matsunaga in 2005, Yoshihito Sasaki, has a singles re-match scheduled for the opening show of the November MAX Around '06 tour. The last time the two met back on 11/17 2005 it was a No-rope Barbwire Spider Net & Barricade Board Double Hell Death Match in Osaka that Yoshihito won and Matsunaga hasn't returned since then. Can Yoshihito dispel him once more? Or by that time will Matsunaga and Murakami already have permanently damaged ZERO1-MAX?
Fugo Fugo Yumeji will also celebrate his 10th Anniversary in pro wrestling that night in the opening tag match.
GPWA Main Event Announced!
October 10th, 2006
The Global Pro Wrestling Alliance announced today the main event for their first show on November 14th in Korakuen Hall, Realize. It will be a main event 6-man tag of young wrestlers from some of the various promotions involved in the project. Kensuke Office's Katsuhiko Nakajima was unable to make it to the press conference, and Pro Wrestling El Dorado has yet to designate their wrestler for the match. El Dorado's President Noriaki Kawabata was on hand instead.

He added that they want to put forth matches that will hold up 10 years from now. He said that they'll be announcing more matches very soon, and that Tomoaki Honma has also been confirmed for the show.
